The language of flowers: What colour symbolises

It is said that the history of plant colour symbolism originated a long time ago in the East. It was there that women could not fully communicate and found a way out - they invented to compose bouquets, where each plant and its hue denoted a certain event or warned of something.
In this article, we will tell you how to choose the right flowers in the right colour scheme and how many are best used in a bouquet for any particular occasion.

The importance of shade when arranging your bouquet
When choosing a ready-made arrangement or creating one, it is important to pay attention to the colour scheme to be used. Among the multi-coloured symbolism are the following:
  • white - youth, tenderness, purity, innocence;
  • red - strong passionate love, freedom;
  • pink - considered universal, suitable for various occasions, can be given to girls of any age;
  • orange - pride, power and strength;
  • yellow - family hearth, prosperity, welfare;
  • green - joy and peace;
  • blue - symbol of family happiness;
  • light blue - hope and faith;
  • purple - tenderness, but it is not recommended to give it for holidays and wedding ceremonies;
  • violet and purple - grandeur, luxury;
  • purple - expresses humility;
  • mottled hues - also suitable for all celebrations;
Black is the colour of mourning.
It is also important to bear in mind the right choice of plants in different shades. When combining contrasting colours in a bouquet, they should be arranged in opposite directions. The most original are a combination of green-red, orange-blue, yellow and purple. The main thing is to avoid abrupt transitions, the bouquet should look natural.
The use of neighboring tones - from 2 to 4, which gives room for imagination - for future compositions there are virtually no limits. A monochromatic composition (in one colour) looks stunning, and the use of a polychromatic palette (multicolours) will make a bouquet unique.
